Beautycounter Tint Skin Foundation Review

I was excited to reconnect with an old acquaintance and good friend-of-a-friend this summer – not just because she is awesome and so much fun, but also because she is a Beautycounter rep and I had been wanting to try some of their makeup.

I had heard of Beautycounter a few years ago on Facebook. Yes its an MLM which can be annoying if you have too many friends pushing products on Facebook, but I was intrigued enough once I learned of their product ingredient Never List. I think there are definitely more ingredients they could include on their list, but it’s at least a start to cleaner cosmetics.

I purchased the Tint Skin Foundation in porcelain and linen – the two lightest shades. I wish they would expand there color offerings, but I figured I should be able to make a mix of these colors work. My face is hard to match to foundations.

My first instinct upon receiving the products: this formulation is nice and moisturizing, but it will be hard to get medium to full coverage.

I tried porcelain, linen and then mixed the colors. The mix of porcelain and linen is the best match for my skin tone.

After trying the products, I was right in my initial instincts about the coverage. Not matter what kind of brush or application I used, no matter how many layers, I couldn’t get the right coverage I needed to adequately hide the vitiligo and melasma on my face. If you have fairer skin but some vitiligo, a few layers of coverage would probably be fine. Or if you don’t have pigmentation issues, this formula could work well for you! I actually gave mine to my mom.

I liked the overall texture, however it did carry a bit of a makeup-y scent with it (as many foundations too), although it wasn’t as strong as the Jane Iredale glow time bb cream foundation.
