Southern California weekends mean lots of time in the sun and the water! I have to wear natural but effective sunscreen for my vitiligo and melasma, and my husband has to wear very strong sunscreen because his main sport keeps him in the sun and water most of the day.
I try not to force my husband to try too many products, so It’s nice we both came to the same conclusion about Badger natural sunscreen on our own: this stuff works!
I had made a suggestion to my husband about sunscreen brands he might want to look into when he was searching for a better sport sunscreen, but he did his own research too. He’s had a lot of experience with using and accidentally not using enough or the right kind of sunscreen over the years, since he has spent most of his free since he was a child in the sun and water. His skin both tans easily and burns easily in the sun, so he doesn’t like to take chances.
He remembered the very effective colored zinc sunscreen from his childhood, and came across Badger sunscreen while working for a zinc replacement. It’s nice to hear him care about products like sunscreen and know that he understands the importance of natural, mineral or non-nano zinc.
He prefers the Badger sport sunscreen face stick spf 35 with zinc. He uses the stick on his face and neck and uses the sport cream for other areas. We are also very cautious about protecting his neck from the sun. He always wears a baseball cap outside and while sailing, but after I threatened to make him wear this hat with a neck flat, he also wears a Patagonia sun mask. My friend Christine and I found our guys a similar version from Columbia a few years ago, but the Patagonia one is a little longer so it provides more coverage when scrunched.
We keep a few Badger sport sunscreen spf 35 face sticks in our home, in our cars, on boats etc and while we travel so we are always prepared. We also like to use the sport and active natural zinc oxide sunscreens too. While I always wear natural sunscreen on my face, I’m trying to be a lot better about wearing SPF on my hands and my elbows where my vitiligo is most noticeable since the rest of my arms are fairly tan. When I’m particular about not having visible zinc sunscreen, I utilize my elemental herbs All Good natural zinc sunscreen stick since it is clear, but when I need heavy duty coverage and I don’t mind white residue, I use Badger natural cream sunscreen or sunscreen stick. Sometimes I even by the baby version with chamomile. But overall their unscented products are great.
