I’ve been so busy lately but I’m so excited to finally try all of travel size skincare products I bought at Farmaesthetics during my latest trip to Newport, RI.
I have family in Newport who have been RAVING about Farmaesethetics natural beauty products for years, so I certainly wasn’t going to leave Newport without visiting the boutique.
The staff is so helpful…which is great because this small skincare boutique can be overwhelming! They have so many products! My best option was to narrow down products by ingredients and skin benefits, and choose the travel size so I could try a few when I got back home to California.
The skincare boutique is in a great location, right on Bellevue Ave. close to a great coffee shop. If you don’t have a trip planned to the Newport area soon (you should!), the Farmaesthetics website and blog has a great skincare guide and beauty tips.
When shopping for beauty products I always have to consider my vitiligo, melasma, dry-but-sensitive skin and the other endocrine issues I manage. I’m still not sure how important it is to do so, but I generally attempt to avoid soy in my beauty products, so I didn’t choose many products from Farmaesthetics that include soy oil. Their soy oil is certified organic which is great. I also avoided products containing lavender because most of the time I find lavender overwhelming.
Farmaesthetics Natural and Organic Skin Care Review
Farmaesthetics Rosehip and Clay Mint Mask mixed with their Pure Complexion Tonic
Normally my skin doesn’t breakout much, but when I’m trying new – even natural or organic beauty products – my face does breakout more than normal so I thought this mask would be perfect for clarifying. The clay mint mask in combination with pure complexion tonic makes a smooth green paste. It goes on dark but dries to look like light green clay. The mask was very gentle and non-drying yet felt effective. I’m not sure it cleared up my breakout immediately, but it certainly helped and I would recommend it again.
Farmaesthetics Vassar Rose Perfecting Polish paired with their Fine Herbal Cleanser
I’m always on the lookout for a natural exfoliator. I love my Acure Organics brightening scrub, but I found the finer grain of the Farmaesthetics Vassar Rose perfecting polish appealing. The vassar rose polish worked well with the fine herbal cleanser, but next time I would try it with an oil, tonic or other facial cleanser as well. My face felt very soft and clean without being too dried out. I would highly recommend this as part of a melasma beauty routine. I don’t think this will aggravate my face and vitiligo too much.
Farmaesthetics Nettle Remedy Oil
So at the shop they told me the Nettle remedy oil I was buying had almond oil, but on the site it says it has almond oil or soy oil. Regardless, this is a really nice organic face oil that doesn’t have any scent. It’s moisturizing and absorbs well, but a little goes a long way if you don’t like that oily oil feeling. Overall I would recommend it, but I would prefer if it didn’t potentially use soy oil.
