FitGlow Beauty is a Canadian company that makes some pretty rockin’ fragrance free (hallelujah!) natural and organic skin care and beauty products. They are Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free (woohoo!) and stay away from lots of “bad” stuff like parabens, BHA, formaldehyde, phthalates and more.

FitGlow Beauty Super C Cream Review

I first noticed FitGlow beauty more when I received their Super C cream in my December 2016 Glowing Beets natural beauty subscription box. I’m testing lots of Vitamin C serums and creams this year since I know how important it is for a good dark spot, hyperpigmentation and melasma regimen. I really like that this cream is lightweight – great for day time and unscented. I use it most almost as a primer actually before makeup.

Like most Vitamin C products, it claims to reduce dark spots and hyperpigmentation and prevent them from forming by protecting skin against free radicals. This Vitamin C based solution is very different from other’s I’ve tried. The texture is so light and airy, it’s hard to tell if it’s really being absorbed and working. That being said it has been at least a great intro product for me to FitGlow Beauty. I’m almost out of this organic Vitamin C cream and while I’m not sure I will replace my empty, I will definitely try more from this organic beauty company.

FitGlow Beauty Vita Active Foundation Review for Dark Spots, Melasma and Hyperpigmentation

After my positive, scent-free experience with the FitGlow Beauty Super C Cream, I was eager to try their other products, especially makeup. I was so thrilled to try their Vita Active Foundation. A foundation that claims it can also truly make skin better, and lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation – not just cover it up? That’s a tall order! At $55 it’s not inexpensive, but that’s a pretty good price point for the type of foundations I tend to try and for the most part I’ve found the quality is worth it at higher price points.

The Vita Active foundation treats and protects my sensitive skin with Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, seaweed and beta carotene. It feels amazing on my skin – I was very impressed with the texture and the relatively scent free formula. It reminds me a lot of Josie Maran Vibrancy Foundation, but without the strong natural aroma. Like the Josie Maran foundation, this FitGlow Beauty formula is buildable, but I can achieve higher coverage. In addition, the color doesn’t transfer as horribly as the Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation. Overall, coverage is pretty good considering the natural ingredients. I even tested it through a workout and it’s done a pretty good job.

FitGlow Beauty Vita Active healthy foundation definitely has a spot in my daily foundation rotation. But has it made my melasma, dark spots and hyperpigmentation better? Hard to tell, but it’s certainly not hurting. Regardless of whether it’s working to prevent or reduce dark spots, it feels healthy, hydrating and nourishing when applied, so it’s worth a try for those reasons alone!

I found it very difficult to choose a color, so I ordered samples. I wear VF2, but thought VF3 would be a better match, but it’s actually much darker in version than any other swatches I’ve seen. See FitGlow beauty’s vita active foundation color guide.
