Update: If you love high-performance makeup, you’ll love my guide to amazing mascaras for sensitive eyes and where to buy them! (Sephora, Amazon and more). And you can find my other melasma makeup reviews here
After trying this brand for a few years, I’ll provide you today with a quick read and honest thoughtful opinions on IT Cosmetics products including their Your Skin But Better CC Cream – sometimes considered a “holy grail” full coverage foundation for melasma, hyperpigmentation and acne.
IT Cosmetic Brush Review
I actually love their brushes! I’ve tried a few over time and they have awesome bristle quality and clean easily. Sometimes the brush heads twist off easily but I’ve found super glue helps that. Yes, they are pricey but worth it. Ulta has a special collection of lower-priced brushes vs the brand’s website. My favorite from this line is the velvet luxe soft focus scultping brush.
IT Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review
I’m always on the hunt for a good talc-free eyeshadow to reduce irritation on my eyes and I was excited to try the IT Cosmetics Superhero Eye Transforming Anti-Aging Super Palette. I really like the texture and while the colors are lovely, they just aren’t flattering enough on me and this talc-free eyeshadow palette isn’t cheap. I can’t personally recommend this set at this time, although I would definitely try their Naturally Pretty Eye Shadow trios.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye UnderEye Under Eye Concealer Review
Now this is an awakening concealer! The ‘light’ shade was just what I needed to conceal my under-eye circles. The dual-ended brightening concealer is awesome and if you have severe under eye dark circles I would recommend this product. However it heavy feeling. This concealer is powered by peptides and one of IT Cosmetics favorite ingredients, hydrolyzed collagen. This was helpful to conceal my upper lip melasma as well.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better™ CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+ Review
IT Cosmetics describes this mutli-functional full coverage makeup as anti-aging miracle skincare. Some benefits of this IT Cosmetics Allure best of beauty award-winning foundation
- Color correcting – this absolutely does cover dark spots
- Anti-aging – thank you sunscreen and great ingredients
- SPF 50 – love that it contains broad-spectrum physical blockers like zinc oxide
- Clinically tested hydration – while it blends fairly well, this isn’t as hydrating as I would like
- Paraben Free and Talc Free
So yes it covers very very well – both my dark spots, hyperpigmentation and vitiligo. And it feels better on my skin than Dermablend – it’s coverage is thick and similar to CoverFX. However, I find the finish to be flat and one-dimensional. I get compliments that the makeup covers well, but everyone can tell I’m wearing makeup. I want people to find my skin to be radiant, not that I wear full coverage foundation. Because it looks like I’m wearing too much makeup, this isn’t my melasma holy grail. Instead, I’ve been focusing on trying effective but clean skincare that has led to fantastic melasma healing results so I can wear less makeup.
Personally I much prefer using Hourglass foundation stick or even better, Ere Perez’s creamy oat milk foundation formula.
Also…it smells too fruity. There may not be artificial fragrances added, but they aren’t good natural fragrances if you can smell what I mean 🙂
Stay tuned for more melasma makeup and skin care reviews.
